Sceneys Fence Black

Description

Sceneys Fence Black is an Australian-made, oil-based black timber coating for post and rail fences, sleepers and retaining walls, available in 4L and 20L tins. Developed by Sceneys in 2008 as a replacement for the now-banned creosote, it gives your fence lines that classic deep black look while being kinder to animals and the environment.

Coverage

Approximately 8 to 10 square metres per litre. As a rough guide, a 4L tin covers about 32 to 40 m² and a 20L drum about 160 to 200 m² (one coat). Allow for two coats on new or thirsty timber.

How to Apply

• Make sure the timber is clean and dry
• Apply by brush, roller or spray gun; no thinning needed for spraying
• The first coat soaks right in; a second coat gives an even, uniform black
• Touch dry in about an hour, but leave 24 hours between coats
• Over time the surface may fade slightly; a quick light coat brings it straight back
• Clean up with mineral turps
