Description

Key Features

The Eggbutt cheek piece prevents pinching of the lips and gives a solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower than the loose ring and also introduces light poll pressure.

A fixed cheek piece is designed to sit closely to the horses lips, it encourages flexion.

The central barrel allows for a separation of reins aids, enabling a fine tuning of communication. The limited movement of the barrel allows the port to adjust to fit a wide range of mouth configurations. The adjustable port allows the horse to manoeuvre pressures between its tongue & bars.

The port creates relief for the tongue while the barrel relieves pressure on the bars, while still allowing for individual lateral aids.

The joint is semi-broken and thus is hindered in making its full movement, thereby limiting the bit’s action and lessening the pinch.

Sweet Iron

Sweet iron will oxidize when it comes into contact with moisture, this oxidation process encourages salivation which improves acceptance of the bit.

This process changes the blue colour of the Bomber bit to a brownish grey. If not used for a while, any build-up may be removed with a scourer and wiped with a damp cloth.

All Bombers bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it: oxidises easily, encourages salivation, helps bit acceptance, is warm and sweet.

Cheekpiece

The cheekpiece is available in 2 sizes, standard and a slightly smaller model for a pony.
