Putting in a new stormwater line, fixing a downpipe join or running conduit out to the shed? Plumma's Blue Glue Type N is the fast-setting solvent cement for gluing non-pressure PVC-U pipe and fittings. Every bottle has a natural bristle brush in the cap, so it goes on easily.

HOW TO USE IT

1. Cut the pipe square, remove burrs, mark the socket depth on the pipe and check the joint dry-fits.
2. Clean the pipe and the inside of the socket with a cloth moistened with Plumma's Red or Clear priming fluid. This step is essential for a good bond.
3. Shake or stir the glue, then brush a full, even coat inside the socket first, then on the pipe end.
4. Push the pipe straight home to the full socket depth and hold for at least 30 seconds.
5. Don't disturb the joint for 5 minutes (15 minutes below 10°C), and allow 24 hours before testing.
6. Pipe jointing to AS/NZS 2032 should be done by a qualified tradesperson.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Non-pressure use only. For pressure pipe, use a Type P (green or clear) solvent cement.
• Where there's a gap between pipe and fitting, use a Type G gap-filling cement instead.
• Hot (over 30°C) or windy weather can dry the glue too fast. Apply a second coat or use a slow-set cement.
• Not for polyethylene or plasticised PVC. Keep the lid on tight, and don't use it if it has gone lumpy or jelly-like.
• Shelf life 2 years from manufacture. Store cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.

SAFETY

• Highly flammable liquid and vapour (Dangerous Goods Class 3). Keep away from heat, sparks and flames.
• Causes serious eye irritation and may cause drowsiness, dizziness or breathing irritation. Use with good ventilation.
