Description

Talon Rat & Mouse Killer All Weather Wax Blocks are a tough and reliable solution for controlling rats and mice around the home, farm, or workplace. Made with Brodifacoum — recognised as one of the world’s most effective rodenticides — these handy wax blocks are designed to kill rodents with just one feed.

The durable all-weather wax formula makes them ideal for both damp and dry conditions, while the easy-to-secure block design allows them to be nailed or wired in place where needed.

Features

  • Contains Brodifacoum, one of the world’s most effective rodenticides

  • Kills rats and mice with a single feed

  • Helps control rodent species resistant to Warfarin and Bromadiolone

  • Contains a human taste deterrent to help prevent accidental consumption by children

  • No touch, no mess design

  • Wax blocks can be nailed or wired in place for secure baiting

  • Suitable for use in both damp and dry areas

  • Recommended for both interior and exterior baiting locations

How to Use

  1. Remove as many alternative food sources as possible before baiting.

  2. To avoid touching the wax blocks directly, place a fingernail into one of the slots beneath the cardboard flap and gently pull it back. If needed, push the block out from the front.

  3. Place bait stations in sheltered areas where rodent activity has been noticed, such as around buildings, along walls, rafters, and dark corners. Wax blocks can be nailed, wired, or secured inside bait stations if required. Do not place bait stations more than 2 metres away from buildings. Always position bait to prevent access by pets and non-target animals, using tamper-resistant bait stations where necessary.

  4. For mice, place single blocks every 2 to 3 metres. For rats, use 1 to 3 blocks depending on the severity of the infestation, spaced every 5 to 9 metres.

  5. Keep a record of bait station locations and regularly inspect them. Replace any bait that has been eaten. If bait is being consumed quickly, increase the number of blocks used. Remove all bait once rodent activity has stopped.

  6. Collect and safely dispose of any dead rodents by burning or sealing them in paper and plastic before placing in approved landfill waste.

Refer to the product label for more detailed instructions regarding Clean Out Treatment Strategies (Pulse Baiting) and Monitoring or Maintenance Treatments.

Handy Rodent Control Tips

  • Remove all other food sources where possible to improve bait effectiveness

  • Try not to touch the bait directly, as human scent may deter rodents

  • Wear gloves if nailing bait blocks into place

  • Rats may attempt to carry bait away, so pinning blocks securely through the centre can allow more rodents to feed safely

  • Rodents often seek water after feeding, so covering or removing indoor water sources may encourage them to leave the building

  • Use for controlling wildlife or rodent-like animals requires permission from wildlife authorities

  • If activity continues after around 2 weeks, additional rodents may be present and pulse baiting may help improve results

Pulse Baiting Guide

Pulse baiting involves placing bait out for 3 to 4 days, then removing it for around 1 week before rebaiting again. Repeat the cycle until rodent activity stops. In heavily affected areas, 3 to 4 cycles are usually effective.

Important Information

  • Only one feed is required to kill rodents within 14 days

  • Most rodent deaths occur within 4 to 7 days after feeding, although some may take up to 2 weeks

  • Continue baiting for at least 2 weeks for effective control

Suitable Use Areas

Suitable for use in and around:

  • Agricultural buildings

  • Domestic properties
